Dessert in a Flash!

I have been meeting with a group of ladies for the past few weeks, sort of a gathering circle to share the moment's inspiration with open hearts and a table full of food. Now a days with special diets and restrictions or allergies, it can become a chore to think of something that will please all pallets.
So on rushed monday morning I decided to bring a taste of sweetness to the group with some nut and fruit blobs. Some may call them power balls, but what I found while looking up a plethora of recipes is that it is really a free for all. What do you have in your fridge or cupboard; throw it in and mix it up. As long as they are sweet and soft you are golden.
Here was a version I whipped up. When I brought these tasty morsels out they were greeted with joy.
1/2 C Cashews ground
1/2 C Almonds ground
4 figs, soaked in hot water for 10 minutes, drain
small handful of dried apricots
2 TBS ground flax meal
1/2 tsp wheat germ
2 TBS maple syrup
1 tsp of garam masala mix
Cocao powder for rolling
Coconut shredded, for rolling

mix all the ingredients together, form little balls and then roll in either or both cocao and coconut.
place in freezeer for atleast 1/2 hour.
devour!
yield: approx 15 balls

When I was speaking with the other ladies, there are many variations to consider with dates, peanut butter, agave syrup, raisins, spirulina, grated ginger, carob......
You be the judge.
